Here are some ideas to start your creative juices:
Encouragement cards/letters
Bring snacks, a list of shut-ins, missionaries, church workers, visitors, etc., and cards or notepaper.
Begin by praying for the people on your list.
Day trips
For ideas, do a Google search on day trips plus the name of your city or state. Consider museums, gardens, small town shops
(Examples: Jamesport, MO; Weston, MO; Leavenworth, KS)
Book swap/Reading Circle
Do you have a favorite book? Trade stories over tea. Share or swap books.
Game night
Table games, group games. How about Twister? Recapture your youth with a game of hide-and-seek.
Share an activity with the ladies of a neighboring church
Slumber party
Ladies tea
Secret sisters (cards, small gifts, prayers)
Red hat party
Supplies can usually be found at modest cost. Straw hats can be spray painted (ahead of time).
Model the hats--and take plenty of pictures!
Saturday brunch - invite a special guest (retired missionary, etc.)
Recipe party (make your favorite dish and bring the recipe)
Scrapbooking party
Email prayer/praise/encouragement list
Prayer calendar
Share-Your-Specialty!
Many of your ladies have a specialty or skill that they would love to share with others. Emma might enjoy teaching
the art of baking bread the "old fashioned" way. Perhaps Deb would demonstrate how to crochet or knit.
Make-One Day
Example: Fabric picture frames or other inexpensive crafts.
